16.11.2022 - In the most recent update, Weather on the Way has introduced CarPlay support, giving users an ability to see rain and snow radar live on their car's screen. The app's CarPlay version, in addition to the live radar, also includes forecast along the selected route, National Weather Service alerts and route directions.
With the coming winter, staying informed about the weather while on the road can make big impact on safety and driving experience. An ability to see the upcoming weather at a glance helps pick alternative routes to drive around storms, plan stops to wait out dangerous conditions and have a better understanding of how long a trip will take.
"Users have been asking for CarPlay support ever since Weather on the Way launched, so we are very happy to announce that our 1.7.2 version includes these features as part of our PRO package." – Said Piotr Knapczyk, the developer of Weather on the Way – "We have made sure to respect Apple's strict CarPlay app guidelines (so for example no animated radar and including turn-by-turn navigation), allowing us to be the first app to be able to offer the radar view on the car's infotainment screen."
The new update rolls out Wednesday, November 16. Weather on the Way can be downloaded from https://get.weatherontheway.app/.
CarPlay radar is part of Weather on the Way PRO package which also includes alternative routes, trip forecast up to a week in advance, additional details including wind, visibility and more. Weather on the Way PRO is priced as a subscription at $4.99 per month, $24.99 per year or a single lifetime purchase of $84.99. The yearly option includes one week of free trial.
